Calendars!
Now, if you're very particular about the calendar you use, if you rely upon only slick, professionally-printed calendars to get you through each day of the year, please stop reading now. Run, don't walk, to your nearest bookstore or shopping mall kiosk and choose from their diverse selection of calendar subjects ranging from Pugs to vintage Studebakers to hang gliding.
If, however, you're slightly less choosy about the calendar you use, if you're content with living your life by the free calendar your insurance agent or the Audubon Society sends you every year...or even if you'd just like a nice memento from the fun blog times we've had together this year, you might enjoy one of these. To buy or find out more, click on either calendar below.
For the ranch-horse-cow-sunset-calf-nut lovers, here's the 2007 Ranch Edition:
And here's a preview of what's inside:
If you've been enjoying my obsession with close-ups this year, or you're still stumped as to what to get Aunt Anabelle or Secretary Suzie or Teacher Tracy or Lawyer Laura or Hygienist Helen for Christmas, or if you have a pathological aversion to images of calf nuts, this one might be more your cup of tea:
I haven't broken the news to my pesky brother-in-law, Tim, that he's now officially a Calendar Boy. What do you suppose he'll say?
"I'll take a dozen!"
"Thank g a w d she only took pictures of CALF nuts."
"Eat your heart out, Chippendales!"
"Whew! That was close. Ree forgot about the one with my little horsey."
(ummm, that was Tim speaking...)
Wait a second, this isn't a Caption Contest...whoopsy, my bad!
Hey, Ree, if I'm going on how most calendars go, your pics are in order of the months...which makes my birthday month the pile of calf nuts pic. I ALWAYS seem to like my months the least....all I have to say for this one is...it figures (lol).
Love the close ups, you used some of my favorites. Oh, and yeah, I'm so glad you used my favorite daddy/daughter pic, too :).
Are you gonna do a b&w one?

I have lurked here for quite awhile. If I buy your calendar I fear I will covet your life even more than I do now.

I LOVE my pug calendar, but I would take one of yours in a heartbeat! You make the most beautiful pictures... I'm in awe of you.
Posted by: Marni | Nov 20, 2006 at 06:48 AM
I want one.
Posted by: Brandi | Nov 20, 2006 at 07:13 AM
Robin...HA! I'll let you know if he utters any of those phrases. Good ones. (Oh, and sorry about the calf nut/birthday month thing...)
Denise...aww, covet schmovet. You should see my closet. And my car. And my utensil drawer. Not pretty. (Hey, I smell a blog post this week...)
Marni...:) I just KNEW you had a pug calendar. (Can I have it when you're done?)

Hi Ree! I've been MIA for a few glorious days with your nephews. Some of your BEST posts were while I was gone....esp GaGa and the artsy-looking trees. Since I've learned there are more important things in life, my formerly red nails are clipped short...clean, but almost always without polish. The butterfly/nail pic was fabulous! How about a calendar filled with grandchildren??

Hey, I will take one of the close up calanders .. They are delish photos.
And I have noticed another "Heather" posting so as we can keep us seperated I will always add Azure before my "Heather". Hopefully neither of you will mind. Besides, Azure means Blue -- and its my fav color... so it works for me.
Hope your day is beautiful if somewhat COLD! Brrr!

Ree,
Where can we get 'em, goofball? And I mean NOW! Your fan club is clamoring, and you're just teasing us. Meanie.

If you want it, you can have it... I have a wonderful one for 2007 -- they are all dressed up in costumes! OMG is it cute! :)

Yay! Pesky Tim! yay! Calf nuts! I do love you Ree, and I will gleefully grin at the calf nuts all of March, snickering subversively!
Just tell me where to sign up!!
(I also need one because I don't have my new pug calendar yet!)
Posted by: Heidi | Nov 20, 2006 at 08:18 AM
Oh! I get it! Click on the picture and it takes us to Lulu where we can order it! I gotta go warm up my credit card now...

The calendars are cool. I'm one of the unlucky ones with calf nuts in her birthday month. Of course the close up one is of a dragonfly which is much more appealing. It's pretty cool that you had these made and are selling them. I hope they do really well. (all my calendars are wipe boards because that's the only way I can organize the million things I have to do, and I still miss stuff from time to time!)

Wow, Ree.
I remember clicking through from a comment you posted on my itty bitty blog to your just-beginning blog. I was hooked right away, and have continued to be amazed as I watch your creation grow. Fame and fortune could not be far away!
Posted by: sasha | Nov 20, 2006 at 09:34 AM
Sasha...fame and fortune? HeeHee! I just did this for fun, fun, fun and because I'd received a few requests over the past several weeks. Any $$ I make, I'll just put into a big, fat photo contest prize. You know me...
Cecedon...aww, sorry about the nuts on your b'day. Nothing personal! :)
Heidi..."snickering subversively" is my new favorite phrase.
AzureHeather...perfect posting name. Thanks for changin' it up for clarification.

You are a very industrious pioneer woman.
If I wasn't making my own, I'd be your first customer.
Those are very impressive.
My problem is getting my family members (including the ones in Oklamona) to send me pictures. If all lived close I'd just be taking pictures.

So Ree, which picture did you use for your bithday month? You haven't had your birthday since you've started blogging have you? (I think I've only been reading since late July so if it happened in May or June I must have missed it.)
Posted by: cecedon | Nov 20, 2006 at 10:34 AM
Oh, I LOVE the cover of the first calendar--I would probably never open it!
The second calendar is WONDERFUL! I do love your close-ups.

Hi Ree. My daughter LOVES white horses, she reminds me daily...I was wondering if we could 'order' a print from you--the white horse picture from the calendar? I LOVE YOUR CLOSE UPS. I too am a fanatic!

I have ordered two calenders to Sweden.

Woohoo! Awesome Ree! I'm asking for this for a stocking stuffer this year. It beats socks or toothbrushes! ;^p
Posted by: Nan | Nov 20, 2006 at 02:55 PM
Cool idea... but I think the calf nuts month is going to cost you sales... it was a nice novelty for a day online... but hanging on one's wall for a month? I might just stay on Feb for 2 weeks, then switch to April for the 2nd two....
Posted by: Resilient | Nov 20, 2006 at 04:41 PM
Thanks, Resilient. Spoken like a true older brother. Careful, or I'll put up the wrestling portrait again.
Cecedon, my b'day is in Jan., and so is M.M.'s. But I really didn't consider that when I chose that photo! Actually, I originally had the calf nut shot in April, but realized it was the month of EASTER, for pete's sake. I mean, Ree, have a little respect!
Nan...hope you get one. :)
Jess, yep...just email me!
Daniel...how's ranching, Sweden style?
Posted by: Ree | Nov 20, 2006 at 04:53 PM
It's about friggin' time! I was just thinking the other day that if you would only offer large prints of some of your photos for sale, I would have the perfect Christmas gift for my in-laws. They adore your photos and videos of ranch life. The calf nuts probably aren't suitable for framing, though;o)

Ree, I think your calendars and your pictures are gorgeous (ok..the calf nuts not so much, but it's still great photography!!) do you do this for a living???
